T.Duplessis Entertainment’s hit production Sweet Willie’s Cotton Club Musical Stage Play will return to the stage August 26 at 8pm at Wonderland Studios after rave audience reviews in New Orleans, and on the Northshore in Slidell, La
Sweet Willie’s Cotton Club, which features music made famous during the Cotton Club era of the 1920s, originally ran March 10-11 at the Sanctuary Cultural Arts Center, March 19th and May 21st at Café Istanbul July 21st and July 22nd at the Cutting Edge Theater in Slidell La. Director Trinese Duplessis decided to bring the play back, as a monthly show after receiving overwhelming requests.
Sweet Willie’s Cotton Club is the story of club owner Johnny V. who re-opens his late father’s New Orleans night club as a 1920s-style venue for local artists. His dream is to make his father proud, even beyond the grave.
Duplessis will bring back the production with the same cast, which features musical director Robert L. Pate, Assistant Program Director and Old School 106.7 DJ Dineaux Hanson as Johnny V., and up-and-coming actress Amber Ned as Camilla V. Musical talent includes Jennifer Baptiste, Brandon Conerly, Brittany James, Latoya Lucien, Kayla Jasmin,Shera Phillips, Catherine Poree (Iris P), Beautiful Lawson, Kirk Jonathan Gus taylor.. Also rounding out the cast will be New Orleans actor Henry Davis.New cast member Added, Comedian Nathanial Jackson, and Trinese Duplessis added as Comedian Deedy Dee AKA the Chess Playing Call Girl.
